Eversheds Sutherland advises Secure Trust Bank on the sale of its Consumer Vehicle Finance businessJanuary 13, 2026 Eversheds Sutherland has advised Secure Trust Bank on the sale of its Consumer Vehicle Finance business to funds managed by LCM Partners, for a consideration of £458.6 million (c. US$619 million). Secure Trust Bank is a UK-listed specialist business and consumer lender. The transaction involves the disposal of its vehicle finance loan portfolio and associated assets and represents a significant step in the group’s strategy to focus capital and resources on its core lending activities, while strengthening its balance sheet and enhancing returns for shareholders. The sale, which represents a premium to book value, is expected to complete in the first quarter of 2026 and is anticipated to increase Secure Trust Bank’s CET1 ratio, providing greater flexibility in the group’s capital allocation strategy. The Eversheds Sutherland team advising Secure Trust Bank was led by Partner Jon Cox-Brown, supported by Senior Associate Max Morrison and Partners Alex Mehdevy, Julia Woodward-Carlton, Naomi Seward, Gareth Vowles and Paul Fontes. Jon Cox-Brown, Partner and Co-head of FS M&A, Eversheds Sutherland, said: “This transaction supports Secure Trust Bank’s strategic focus on its core lending platforms and materially strengthens its capital position. It was a pleasure to work with the Secure Trust Bank team again on a complex and important transaction, and we are proud to have supported them in delivering this outcome.” Charles Mayo, General Counsel of Secure Trust Bank, said: “The Eversheds Sutherland team led by Jon Cox-Brown provided us with super support on this highly strategic transaction, combining top quality M&A advice with genuine financial services expertise and providing very effective teamwork between us and our legal and financial advisers.” Eversheds Sutherland has welcomed a number of senior hires in the last 12 months into its Corporate Finance practice as part of its global strategy to significantly strengthen and expand its wider offering.
