He also has significant experience in proceedings before specialist tribunals, together with investigations by criminal and regulatory authorities. Mark joins Eversheds Sutherland from a UK magic circle where he led the Asia disputes practice for the past nine years. Wesley Pang is an arbitration specialist who acts for private and sovereign clients in commercial and investor-State disputes. He has been involved in complex contentious and non-contentious matters in Europe, the Middle East and Asia, with a particular focus on disputes in the energy and project development and finance sectors. Prior to joining Eversheds Sutherland, Wesley was Managing Counsel at the Hong Kong International Arbitration Centre (HKIAC). He also worked in the litigation and international arbitration groups at a major US law firm in New York, Paris and London. Stephen Kitts, Managing Partner, Asia commented: 'These two appointments send a clear message to the market. First, they demonstrate our commitment to Hong Kong and the strategic importance of Hong Kong to our regional and global practices. Second, following these appointments, Eversheds Sutherland has joined an elite group of international firms. We are now one of a handful of firms that can advise our clients on each of the key dispute specialisms: litigation, international arbitration, competition and regulatory matters. Singapore practice is another example of our strategy. Eversheds Harry Elias has announced the appointment of Tan Weiyi as a partner in the Litigation and Dispute Management practice. Weiyi advises on cross-border investigations, including corruption, financial fraud and other white-collar matters. She joins our global team of investigations specialists based in Hong Kong, the US, UK and Europe. This is a very exciting time for Eversheds Sutherland. The Asian legal market is one of the largest, and most dynamic, in the world and our Asia practice is placed at the centre of that growth story.' Latest InsightsLatest News
