Advising Power Capital on landmark Irish solar portfolioMarch 23, 2026 Eversheds Sutherland has advised Power Capital Renewable Energy on the successful financing of its 395 MW Irish solar portfolio. The transaction comprises a portfolio of four utility‑scale solar projects and represents a significant milestone for the Irish renewables market. As of December 2025, Ireland had approximately 1.3GW of installed utility‑scale solar capacity, making this portfolio a material contribution to the country’s energy transition. The financing was provided by the European Investment Bank and Danske Bank, with a debt package in excess of €250 million. Eversheds Sutherland advised Power Capital across all aspects of the transaction, including project finance, real estate, PPAs and construction documentation, coordinating a multi‑disciplinary team to support the delivery of the portfolio through to financial close. The projects involve multiple contractors and complex contractual workstreams, requiring careful risk allocation and management across the portfolio. The team was led by Seán Scally, with support from Cal Lynn, Chelsey O’Doherty, Pranav Nanda and Ciara O’Keefe (Energy & Infrastructure). Real estate support was provided by Ciara Gunning, Gillian Blanche and Aisling Murray. Debt finance advice was provided by Robert Potter‑Cogan, Jim Peters and Aoife Duggan McSweeney, with support from Alex Carver. The wider team included trainees Zuhdi Emara, Ronan Quinn, Sinead Roche, Kerstina Mortensen, Sean Bell and Sean Mulroy. The successful close of this transaction further strengthens Power Capital’s position as a leading Irish solar developer and supports the continued growth of large‑scale renewable generation in Ireland. Seán Scally, Partner, Eversheds Sutherland, said: “We are delighted to have supported Power Capital on this landmark solar portfolio financing. Delivering the transaction through to financial close was a true team effort, drawing on expertise across our energy, real estate and finance teams to navigate a complex, multi‑asset structure. The deal reflects the strength of our long‑standing relationship with the Power Capital team, and we look forward to continuing to work together as they expand and scale their renewable platform.” Justin Browne, CEO of Power Capital, said: “This project represents a significant milestone for Power Capital as we continue to scale our Irish solar portfolio and support the delivery of large‑scale renewable infrastructure. Eversheds Sutherland provided clear, pragmatic and highly commercial advice throughout a complex, multi‑asset transaction, guiding us confidently through to financial close. Their deep sector expertise, collaborative approach and ability to manage complexity across multiple workstreams make them a trusted adviser as we continue to grow our platform.” Key contacts
