What does a Board do? Traditionally, most Board members would readily respond by using the words “strategy and oversight”. However, lately, Board members would probably give a much expanded response, using one or all of the concepts of Governance, Risk and Compliance.
Our view is that today’s effective Board members have to be knowledgeable about this “love triangle”, often imposed upon them by the regulators, and allocate substantial Board time around these concepts.
