Eversheds Sutherland strengthens restructuring offering with senior partner appointment

Simon joins from Goodwin Procter where he was a partner in its Financial Restructuring Group and played a central role in establishing and growing its team in London.

 

Simon advises on complex domestic and cross‑border restructuring matters for a wide range of stakeholders including funds, corporate groups, lenders, debtors, creditors, directors, investors and acquirers. His experience spans sectors such as aviation, biotech, cryptoassets, energy, financial services, healthcare, infrastructure, leisure, life sciences, manufacturing, real estate, retail, SaaS, shipping, technology, telecommunications and travel including contentious matters.

 

He is frequently instructed to devise strategies to preserve and maximise value using processes such as Restructuring Plans, Schemes of Arrangement, CVAs, share pledge enforcement (including in Luxembourg), COMI shifts and pre‑packaged administrations.

 

Widely recognised as a leader in the field, Simon is ranked in legal industry directories The Legal 500 and Chambers UK as well as Super Lawyers and GRR100. He is described by Legal 500 as being “Well-versed in insolvency legal knowledge”, providing “’effective and calm’ support to a myriad of stakeholders, including funds and Ips”.

 

Simon is an active member of the Insolvency Lawyers’ Association, INSOL, the Turnaround Management Association, the American Bankruptcy Institute and the City of London Law Society Insolvency Committee. He is also a regular speaker on restructuring and cross‑border issues including recent contributions to the American Bankruptcy Institute’s Winter Leadership Conference and the Reorg Europe Podcast.
