Eversheds Sutherland Advises Oglethorpe Power in Acquisition of Natural Gas-Fired Combustion Turbine Generating FacilityOctober 24, 2022 Eversheds Sutherland is pleased to announce that it advised Oglethorpe Power Corporation, one of the nation’s largest power supply cooperatives, in entering into a purchase and sale agreement to acquire two GE combustion turbine units from Gulf Pacific Power, an investment fund managed by Harbert Management Corporation. The units are a part of the Washington County Power facility, a four-unit 660-megawatt combustion turbine generation and transmission facility located in Sandersville, Ga. The facility entered commercial operation in 2003. The two acquired units will add approximately 330 megawatts of natural gas-fired capacity to Oglethorpe Power’s diverse generation portfolio. The acquisition is subject to Oglethorpe Power Board and member approvals, as well as other customary conditions, including regulatory approvals, and is expected to close by the end of 2022.
