Sumitra Subramanian is a Principal Associate in the Financial Services Disputes and Investigations group at Eversheds Sutherland, part of its Litigation and Dispute Management practice.
Sumitra acts for clients on investigations and regulatory enforcement matters involving the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA), Prudential Regulation Authority (PRA) and overseas financial services regulators. Sumitra also advices financial services clients more generally on the interpretation and application of FCA and PRA rules, including in relation to conduct, culture, governance, and individual accountability.
Sumitra is a regular speaker at events on regulatory matters and has helped industry bodies to draft responses to regulatory consultations.
Before joining Eversheds Sutherland, Sumitra was an investigator within the FCA’s Enforcement and Market Oversight Division, where she acted on investigations into the conduct of financial services firms and their senior individuals. She has also spent time on secondment to the enforcement division of an overseas financial services regulator.
Before qualifying as a solicitor, Sumitra was a management consultant at PwC, where she worked on IT systems integration projects for clients in the UK and overseas.
