Sara Malmgren is head of the firm’s IT department and a Partner in our Commercial group focusing on IT, and information- and cyber security.
Sara has been practicing law since 1997, focusing on working closely with tech companies and other organizations in all matters related to IT, IP, information security, artificial intelligence and cyber security. She provides clients with practical business and legal advice on compliance, complex IT-related contracts, and internet security matters.
Sara works with clients across various sectors, including Internet infrastructure, Internet service providers, and start-ups. She is dedicated to understanding the technical aspects of her client’s business to ensure compliance with applicable laws and facilitate their ability to operate. Sara firmly believes that close cooperation with clients' tech experts optimizes the legal advice provided.
Sara advises clients on legal areas affecting most organizations today. This includes elements of GDPR, cyber security compliance (such as NIS2, CRA, and CER), and commercial aspects of IT-related services like licensing, IT operations, cloud services, e-commerce, and R&D.
Her clients primarily include national and global companies within the tech industries, such as those active in IT, R&D, and engineering sectors, often within developing technologies like AI.
Sara holds an LL.M. from Lund University (Sweden) and has been a member of the Swedish Bar Association since 2003. She is a frequent lecturer on information security (including GDPR) and cyber security and is recommended by Legal 500.
