Pete serves as a co-head of the Eversheds Sutherland Global Intellectual Property Group.
He counsels clients in a variety of global industries—including life sciences, energy, chemical, industrial manufacturing and fashion brand companies—on all aspects of product development and intellectual property protection, transactions, and controversies. With a degree in chemical engineering, Pete focuses on chemical and mechanical patent prosecution, federal trademark prosecution, patent and trademark litigation (including Hatch-Waxman) and contested proceedings such as Inter Partes Reviews (IPRs), and cancellation and opposition proceedings, trade secrets, copyrights, transaction diligence, negotiation and drafting of IP terms in agreements such as merger and acquisition purchase agreements, product development agreements, license and supply agreements, and contract research agreements, and freedom to operate, validity and infringement opinions.
Pete has substantial experience in intellectual property matters concerning pharmaceuticals, polymeric nonwoven products and manufacturing equipment, water treatment, electro-luminescence, petroleum products, renewable energy, ceramics, apparel and fashion brands, packaged beverage manufacturing, colloids, food chemistry, paper technology, flexible packaging, textiles, agricultural chemicals, printing, carbon black, polymer extrusion equipment, latex gloves, xerography, electro-chemistry, and other aspects of polymer technology. Pete is registered to practice before the US Patent and Trademark Office.
