Rafael is a partner in our Spanish real estate group.
He specializes in advising international institutional investors. He has extensive experience in negotiating complex real estate deals such as sale and leaseback transactions involving shopping centers, retail warehouse schemes, office buildings, logistics warehouses or residential portfolios’ acquisition and disposals. He has also been involved in real estate financing, transactions involving data centers, property construction and development, urban planning, as well as commercial leases in relation to shopping centers and main street units.
He leads the Pro-bono activities of Eversheds Sutherland Spain.
Some of the projects Rafael and his team have advised on include:
- advising Patrizia Immobilien AG on the acquisition of an office building in the 22@ area of Barcelona and the sale of a commercial building in central Madrid
- advising Harbert Management Corporation on the acquisition of Ballonti shopping centre in the Basque Country and on asset management work
- advising Harbert Management Corporation on the acquisition of land and the development of BTR and BTS projects in Spain
- advising Proudreed on the asset management of the Quadernillos Shopping Centre in Alcalá de Henares (Madrid)advising several data center developers on the acquisition of land and on construction matters
- acting for ICG on the financing and re-financing of its retail portfolio in Spain as well as on the acquisition and disposal of retail assets
