Elīna is Attorney at Law and Partner at Eversheds Sutherland Bitāns. She heads the Eversheds Sutherland Bitāns Employment practice group.
Elīna has over 15 years of experience in the field of employment law. She provides clients with employment-related legal and business solutions both in domestic and cross-border settings.
Elīna’s extensive experience allows her to advise clients on a wide range of matters, both within strategic HR processes and in day-to-day situations, from recruitment planning and the establishment of employment relationships to the termination of employment. Elīna assists employers in development of employment documentation, drafting documents that comply not only with the legal requirements, but also with the specific character of the employer’s business. She provides legal support to employers in complex situations with personnel, such as employee misconduct, damage to the employer, unlawful disclosure of trade secret and collective redundancy.
Elīna Muciņa has more than 10 years of experience in the field of personal data protection. Elīna provides legal support to companies in the process of implementation of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) by explaining the requirements of the regulation, drafting documentation, providing recommendations for successful data processing, as well as conducting employees’ training. Elīna advises clients in the field of e-commerce, drafts documents for online sales and assists marketing teams in drafting the appropriate texts for sending out commercial communications, organising sales promotions and the use of cookies. Working with Eversheds Sutherland’s global clients gives Elīna knowledge how data is processed by global companies, enabling her to make more informed and globally relevant recommendations to our clients.
Elīna also shares her experience with others through seminars and lectures on employment law and data protection topics. Elīna Muciņa is a co-author of the Commentaries to the Constitution of the Republic of Latvia.
