Philip Heilbrunn

Philip has been practicing law since 1996 and has served as a dedicated financial services and capital markets partner at Eversheds Sutherland since 2019. He primarily assists clients, including banks, financial institutions, funds, equity sponsors, issuers, borrowers and FinTech companies, providing or receiving financial and related services across the financial, capital, and fintech markets. His expertise spans a broad range of debt, equity, structured, lease and trade financings, including capitalizations, financial and debt restructurings, investments, structural and capital markets matters, as well as their corporate and financial regulatory aspects.

With extensive experience as a senior legal commercial advisor, Philip is committed to delivering a comprehensive approach to his clients’ legal needs. In addition to financing matters, Philip also advises clients on general commercial law, including commercial contracts, investments, capitalizations, commercial agreements, acquisitions, and capital market transactions.

Before joining Eversheds Sutherland in 2019, Philip served as the head of banking and finance departments at other leading law firms and worked as senior group in-house counsel at a listed multinational industrial company.

Philip brings unique market experience in advising corporate treasury departments on a wide range of financial services matters and transactions, including their corporate and regulatory aspects. He is also a highly experienced aviation finance lawyer.

Outside his advisory work, Philip has contributed to publications such as Thomson Reuters' Lending and Taking Security in Sweden on several occasions. In his free time, he enjoys tennis, skiing and travelling.
