Megan Hall helps multinational companies navigate complex international tax challenges, including the tax aspects of acquisitions, mergers, internal restructurings and business formations.
She has designed plans and led teams to complete international restructurings in advance of a spin-off of a division, initial public offering and sale or acquisition by private equity. Her experience extends through post-deal integration and reporting, where she helps multinational businesses address and implement cohesive tax strategies.
Megan advises employers on the tax complexities of managing global, mobile workforces. She provides cross-border tax planning related to new hires, short- and long-term assignments, relocations, and the applicability of Status of Forces Agreements (SOFAs). Her guidance covers employer withholding obligations and employee exemptions tied to visa status, and she has successfully resolved IRS disputes related to withholding taxes.
Megan has advised US chemical companies for more than a decade and is a frequent presenter and author on issues relevant to the Industrials sector.
Outside of client work, Megan is a frequent and well-regarded speaker on timely tax topics, including global tax transparency, international tax reform, intellectual property (IP) taxation, and the One Big Beautiful Bill Act, among other topics.
Before joining Eversheds Sutherland, Megan served as a law clerk to The Honorable Marvin J. Garbis, United States District Court for the District of Maryland.
