Alessandro has a significant experience in assisting companies during the investigations before the Italian Antitrust Authority, both in antitrust and consumer protection matters.
His practice covers all areas of EU, regulatory and competition law as well as antitrust litigation, merger control and EU and state aid laws, trade and exports control legislation, Foreign Direct Investments filings, pharmaceutical, energy, transport, gaming/gambling, telecommunication regulation, consumer law/unfair commercial practices. Alessandro has published several articles, briefings and press releases on Global Competition Review and on Italian financial newspapers. He also lectured on antitrust matters in post-graduate courses in Rome and Milan and he has been panellist in most high-profile conferences focused on antitrust and regulatory matters.
In addition to being consistently individually ranked by Chambers Europe and Legal 500 amongst EU & Competition leading lawyers in Italy since 2015 as well as having won the Client Choice Awards for Competition in Italy in 2021, Alessandro has also routinely inserted in the list of outstanding senior competition leading lawyers in Italy published by Who’s Who Legal (now Lexology Index).
Having graduated in law (J.D., magna cum laude) from the University of Rome “La Sapienza”, he spent a period of internship with the Italian Antitrust Authority (with the Directorate in charge of energy, gas, oil sector, and with the Directorate in charge of transports sector) and obtained a Post-Graduate Diploma in EU Competition Law awarded by King’s College London (2002) and a Master of Laws (LL.M.) with merit from the London School of Economics and Political Science (2003).

This was the most relevant excessive pricing in the pharma sector abuse of dominance’s investigation initiated by the Italian Antitrust Authority.
- Legal support to one of the leading providers in Italy of facility management services to public administrations, public entities and private clients, in the context of the Italian Antitrust Authority's investigation related to an alleged anti-competitive agreement aimed at coordinating the participation in the tender worth more than € 3 billion launched by the Italian Central Purchasing Body for public administrations (CONSIP) and in the subsequent litigation before the competent Administrative Courts which ended with the annulment of the fine imposed by the Italian Antitrust Authority to the client.
