Ryan’s practice spans domestic and cross-border transactional tax advising and tax planning, focusing on corporate reorganizations, strategic joint ventures, and M&A transactions. He also has significant experience advising on complex real estate structures, private real estate investment funds, and qualified opportunity zone investments. He has additional experience obtaining procedural and technical private letter rulings from the IRS. His work supports clients across industries in navigating an evolving tax landscape, structuring transactions efficiently, and mitigating tax risks.
Earlier in his career, Ryan served as a judicial law clerk at the United States Tax Court, developing a strong foundation in federal tax law and procedure. His experience also includes federal tax policy work with the U.S. Senate Committee on Finance and state tax matters as a legal intern with the North Carolina Department of Justice.
