Eversheds Sutherland advises CJ Global Holdings on the disposal of interests in CJ Feed&Care CorporationMarch 16, 2026 Eversheds Sutherland has acted as Hong Kong legal adviser to CJ Global Holdings Ltd. (“CJ Global”) on the disposal of its interests in CJ Feed&Care Corporation (“CJ Feed&Care”), together with its subsidiaries and affiliates in Vietnam, Indonesia, Cambodia, Korea and the Philippines, by the CJ CheilJedang group (“CJ CheilJedang”) to the De Heus Animal Nutrition group (“De Heus”). The Hong Kong team advised CJ Global on all Hong Kong law aspects of the transaction. The deal was led by Lee & Ko, who acted as international deal counsel to CJ CheilJedang. CJ Global is the Hong Kong subsidiary of CJ CheilJedang. Listed on the Korea Stock Exchange (KRX: 097950), CJ CheilJedang is a leading South Korean food company engaged in the manufacture of food ingredients and ambient, frozen and chilled packaged food products. CJ Feed&Care is its wholly‑owned livestock subsidiary and is the largest industry player in Asia. Founded in 1911, De Heus is a global top‑10 animal feed producer with operations in more than 70 countries across Europe, Asia, the Middle East, Africa and Latin America. The sale of CJ Feed&Care, a non‑core business, forms part of CJ CheilJedang’s wider strategic restructuring of its business profile. The proceeds are expected to support CJ CheilJedang’s financial position and its continued expansion following several recent acquisitions in the US and Europe. The transaction also represents a significant milestone in De Heus’ long‑term growth strategy, expanding its footprint in Asia and strengthening its contribution to agricultural development in the region. By combining CJ Feed&Care’s local expertise and customer relationships with De Heus’ long‑established experience in animal nutrition and farm management, the transaction is positioned to accelerate growth and deliver value to farmers across Asia. The Eversheds Sutherland team was led by Partner and Head of Corporate, Hong Kong, Dickson Ng, supported by Associate Loretta Lo. Lee & Ko acted as lead deal counsel and Korean legal adviser to CJ CheilJedang. Dickson Ng added: “We are thrilled to have supported CJ Global on this important transaction, which marks a crucial part of our client’s strategic business plan in Asia, and we look forward to supporting their activities in the regional and global markets. This transaction also strengthens our collaboration with leading Korean law firm, Lee & Ko, and we very much look forward to working alongside the wider Lee & Ko team on other eventful projects to come.” Latest InsightsLatest News
