Preparation Guidance for Corporate Counsel to Meet SEC’s Climate Disclosure Rules

Partner Darryl Smith speaks with Thomson Reuters about the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission’s recent adoption of new rules pertaining to climate disclosures.

Darryl discusses some key differences between the proposed and final rules, including with regards to Scope 1, 2 and 3 emissions and certain financial statement disclosures. Darryl advises in-house legal departments to proactively assess the climate risk information available to them and not delay their preparation for compliance.
