Global asset management and funds round upApril 11, 2022 We bring you another Eversheds Sutherland virtual Asset Management and Funds Seminar in the hope that our next AMFS will be an in person event. We have two webinars for you and a podcast. As you have come to expect from our asset management team, our first webinar relates to ESG and provides an update for asset managers. Our podcast is on our perennial favourite topic of Brexit, this time the practical implications of Brexit for the EU financial services market. Our second webinar focuses on long term and illiquid assets (LTAF), but we fully expect this to be a recurring theme for some time to come.
Eversheds Sutherland’s Financial Services team has been busy helping clients tackle the continual developments in the asset management space across the globe. We look forward to continuing to work with you and hope you'll be able to attend our asset management and funds event in person in June, we will provide further details on this in due course. As well as our webinars and podcast highlighted above, we are proud of our ongoing thought leadership output, and we bring you a selection of our client briefings which are relevant to financial services. With COVID hopefully largely behind us, the focus for funds has shifted to how the UK and EU will regulate in the post-Brexit era, with intentional divergence starting to emerge in the regulatory reforms of both the UK and the EU. The possibility of UK financial services regulation being recognised as equivalent by the EU remains a distant hope. It will require a UK-EU MoU to be agreed before the EU will start to consider UK equivalence, and that is tied up with intractable and otherwise unrelated disputes about fish and the Northern Ireland protocol.
