Heather has led and successfully managed a number of complex compliance projects dealing with business sensitive data subject access and individual rights requests, including where impacting multiple jurisdictions.
Heather regularly advises on complex data security incidents, including assisting clients with decision making on risk and reporting, preparing and submitting notification to the Information Commissioner's Office ("ICO"), advising on potential enforcement action, dealing with forensic investigators and supporting clients on post breach remediation.
She frequently helps clients to resolve individual complaints, including those involving investigations by the ICO and complaints by data subjects.
She regularly works with, and supports, clients with Data Protection Officers and frequently advises clients in respect of data sharing and the handling of Special Category Data, criminal convictions data and CCTV use.
Heather regularly advises both public and private sector bodies on the Freedom of Information Act 2000 and the Environmental Information Regulations 2004 and has helped clients with exemptions, refusals, internal reviews, dealing with ICO investigations as well as in a number of complex First Tier Information Tribunal hearings.
