Edijs primarily works within the firm’s Banking and Finance, Tax, and Corporate and Commercial Law practice groups.
He has several years of experience being involved in banking, finance, and capital markets transactions. Among other matters, Edijs conducts legal research and prepares the necessary documentation for public and private securities offerings, as well as on issues related to market abuse prevention regulation. He has been involved in the development of remuneration policies and share option programmes, as well as in processes concerning the acquisition of qualifying holdings in financial institutions. In addition to that, Edijs assists, on a day-to-day basis, with corporate and commercial law matters and sanctions-related issues.
In the field of tax law, Edijs provides support in connection with transactions involving capital assets, investment and capital-raising projects, and offers assistance in administrative proceedings. He also has experience in the application of tax rules to remuneration systems and share option programmes. Edijs completed his Master’s thesis in tax law, gaining in-depth expertise in the application of value added tax to the supply of goods within the European Union.
