Spain’s draft Sustainable Consumption Act proposes a ban on fossil fuel advertising, stricter rules on greenwashing, and a new influencer code of conduct. Further afield, China continues its regulatory overhaul with revisions to the Anti-Unfair Competition Law, new livestreaming e-commerce rules, and updated medical advertising guidelines. Italy has issued new healthcare advertising guidance and rulings on ambush marketing and gambling ad bans. The Netherlands has expanded influencer oversight, revised its advertising complaints procedures, and seen a local fossil ad ban upheld by The Hague court. This edition also highlights key enforcement actions and case law across jurisdictions, including ASA rulings on misleading ads and prescription-only medicines, MHRA investigations, and the CMA’s new powers to tackle fake reviews.
