Tom is an international M&A lawyer in our corporate group with experience acting for major global corporates, listed companies, and private equity investors. Tom has particular experience in industrials, aerospace, retail and food and beverage sectors. He has worked as a dedicated corporate lawyer since qualifying in 2012.
As a Partner, Tom can advise on and lead transactions across the full spectrum of corporate work, including disposals, acquisitions, joint ventures, investments and fundraising. He helps companies like yours achieve strategically important M&A objectives. He has been involved in a number of high-profile transactions attracting nationwide media attention.
Tom was seconded to Rolls-Royce for 11 months in 2021, where he worked in their dedicated M&A team and was a key member of the team tasked with delivering £2bn worth of non-core asset disposals in response to the COVID 19 pandemic. While on secondment, he gained invaluable experience of the pressures of in-house counsel and translated that into delivering the highest quality of client service. He was also seconded to our Shanghai office for six months in 2012 and worked on various M&A transactions and foreign direct investments, including a wine production joint venture for Pernod Ricard. He has a network of contacts that can help companies achieve their strategic objectives in the region and experience delivering successful transactions.
Tom regularly presents at client conferences and events globally. Most recently, he spoke at a US M&A in Focus webinar of corporate counsel on the approach to corporate carve-outs and particular issues faced in Europe.
Tom is a member of the Eversheds Sutherland Shadow International Leadership team. He is a member of the Eversheds Sutherland retail sector and is a co-lead in our aerospace, defense and security sub-sector.
