Miriam Goldsmith Krieger counsels business development companies, investment funds and their investment advisers on a broad range of corporate and securities matters.
Miriam also advises asset management firms and their public and private funds on corporate governance, disclosure and regulatory matters. Miriam leverages her extensive experience as an in-house lawyer and senior compliance professional at several alternative asset managers and funds to help clients implement regulations, assess risks, and devise practical solutions to complex legal and regulatory issues.
Miriam began her legal career at Eversheds Sutherland (US), where she represented business development companies (BDCs) in connection with securities offerings, corporate governance, disclosure and regulatory compliance.
Prior to rejoining Eversheds Sutherland (US), Miriam served as Partner, Global Chief Compliance Officer, Global Anti-Money Laundering Officer and Global Anti-Corruption Officer for Ares Management Corporation, a global alternative investment manager, where she also served as a member of the Enterprise Risk Committee. Miriam has served as the Chief Compliance Officer for multiple business development companies since 2006.
