Ankit Chhabra

Ankit is a Partner in our Corporate and M&A team. 

Ankit is part of our financial services M&A team and regularly advises on a range of domestic and cross-border corporate/M&A matters in the financial services space.

Ankit is also a senior member of Eversheds Sutherland’s India group and coordinates Eversheds Sutherland’s India Group’s offerings on cross-border M&A transactions relating to investment into and out of India.

Ankit has also gained significant experience of advising on transactions and legal matters from an in-house perspective through substantial time spent on secondments to the in-house legal teams of various major financial services entities. He has led the in-house legal team of the real estate asset management business for Schroders in London and has also been seconded to the Kuwait Investment Office (the in-house asset manager based in London for the sovereign wealth funds of State of Kuwait) and leading investment banks in London (Bank of America, Merrill Lynch, and JP Morgan).

Ankit has a Master's in law from Cornell Law School, USA and a graduate degree in law and business administration from National Law University, Jodhpur (India). He is tri-qualified as a lawyer in England & Wales, New York and India.

  • Janus Henderson on its acquisition of an independent European ETF provider, Tabula Investment Management (Tabula)
  • Benchmark Financial Planning (a Schroders Group company) on the acquisition of the IFA firm, Champain Financial Services Limited
  • Sellers of Rayner Spencer Mills Research Ltd. (RSMR), a prominent fund ratings and research agency in the UK, on the sale of RSMR to financial data agency Defaqto, owned by Fintel plc
  • Aviva on their acquisition of Succession Wealth (a major wealth management business) from PE firm Inflexion
  • M&G on its acquisition of Sandringham Partners (a major wealth management business) from its founders and management owners
  • Seller of Aro Finance, an embedded credit marketplace, to ClearScore Group 
  • Zopa Bank Group on its acquisition of DivideBuy (a “buy now pay later” fintech platform and business)
